Why should I apply?

The Victorian Training Awards are a great way for you to gain recognition for the hard work and achievements you’ve made within the vocational education and training sector. There is more than $100,000 in prizes awarded every year to the best in the state.

For students

It is a great opportunity to further your career, make new networks and be recognised as the best in your field. All student winners of the Victorian Training Awards become the State’s representatives in the national Awards, the Australian Training Awards.

For teams and organisations

The Awards are an excellent promotional tool and validation of how your innovative training has benefited your business.

For Registered Training Organisations

The Awards provide a benchmark of excellence that places your organisation in the forefront in an increasingly competitive market.

In the Organisation categories, Victorian winners will have the opportunity to be assessed and may be selected as one of three finalists to be considered for the Australian Training Awards (with the exception of the Victorian VET Client Service/Support Excellence and the Victorian Teacher/Trainer of the Year award categories which are Victoria only awards).

How do I nominate someone else?

  • Nominations in all categories are welcome from vocational education and training (VET) providers, employers and industry, other organisations and groups in the VET system as well as individuals and the wider community.
  • Agreement must be sought from the nominee, as the nomination needs to be completed and signed by the nominee.
  • Organisations (e.g. training providers, businesses) and individuals can nominate more than one candidate for a particular award. Nominating more than one candidate from the same organisation for the same award means they will be competing against each other.
  • Individuals and organisations may nominate themselves.
  • Past students who have completed their training course within one year prior to the date that entries open can apply for the Awards.
  • Previous winners and finalists may nominate or be nominated again provided they still meet the relevant eligibility requirements (see relevant Award page for details).
  • For the employer categories, any organisation or enterprise in Victoria can nominate or be nominated. This includes Victorian divisions and subsidiaries of national enterprises, franchise systems and franchisees, and public sector agencies and departments. Only the training conducted by the Victorian operation will be considered for the Award.
