Victorian Training Awards

2011 award ceremony

The winners for the 2011 Victorian Training Awards were announced on Friday 2 September at a glittering ceremony at the Palladium at Crown.

The Victorian Training Awards is the premier event on the Victorian vocational education and training calendar. Now in its 57th year, the Victorian Training Awards rewards outstanding achievement and innovation. They recognise the valuable contribution apprentices, trainees, students, teachers, employers, and training providers make in ensuring our state has a strong skills base, so that Victorian communities and industries can prosper – both now, and in the future.

The awards night began with a dazzling performance by the Dance Factory who performed a tap dance routine to Working Class Man. The Hon Peter Hall, Minister for Higher Education and Skills, then welcomed finalists and guests to the event before students from around the state participated in a trade demonstration.

Awards were presented in 14 categories with prizes of up to $10,000 awarded to winners in most categories. Some winners will represent Victoria at the Australian Training Awards held in Brisbane in November.
