Guy Grossi, Victoria’s Skills Ambassador
Victoria’s Key Skills Ambassador Guy Grossi will work with the Victorian Government to raise awareness of the benefits of vocational education and training and encourage Victorians to undertake TAFE and training courses. He is a passionate advocate for training and will work with the Victorian Government to highlight the benefits of training drawing on his own experiences as a trainee chef and successful business owner.
Guy Grossi is well recognised as a leading Australian master chef and food personality, specialising in pure Italian cuisine. For 20 years he has owned and managed numerous renowned restaurants, including Melbourne’s oldest restaurant Grossi Florentino, which has received local and international recognition as one of Australia’s finest Italian restaurants.
Guy is one of Box Hill Institute of TAFE’s most celebrated alumni, holding a Certificate of Catering. A strong believer in the value of investing in skills development and training, Guy is the perfect advocate for the Government’s TAFE and training system.
He is involved in a number of activities recognising the development and training of young chefs. During his 20 year career, Guy has sent more than 100 of his staff to undertake TAFE and training courses to become trade qualified Chefs.

Victorian Ministers tested their culinary skills in a ‘MasterChef style’ cook-off to coincide with the launch of Guy Grossi as Ambassador for Victoria’s TAFE and training system.
Guy Grossi judged the culinary skills of three Victorian Government Ministers: Minister for Skills and Workforce Participation Jacinta Allan MP; Minister for Education Bronwyn Pike MP and Minister for Roads and Ports and Major Projects Tim Pallas MP in his leading Melbourne restaurant Grossi Florentino.
