How to Submit VET Data
All vocational education and training (VET) providers who receive funding from the Victorian Government are required to provide data to Skills Victoria on a regular basis through the VET statistical collection. Information derived from the collection is used to shape policy, monitor VET activity, evaluate initiatives and plan for the future.
Please submit your student statistical data to Skills Victoria via the 'Statistical Data Submission and Validation' website.
How to get started
You must have a valid username and password to access the 'Statistical Data Submission and Validation' website.
If this is the first time you have submitted data in the collection, you will need to contact us to obtain valid login details. In an email, please provide your name, telephone number and Training Organisation Identification Number (TOID) which was issued to you by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
What other resources do I need?
You will also need access to a range of resources in order to successfully meet the requirements of the statistical collection.
Guidelines
The Victorian VET Student Statistical Data Guidelines and Validation Supplement contain all of the information you need to know about the statistical collection. The documents are essential to understanding the content, definitions and formal requirements of the collection.

Classification tables
The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) makes all of the critical classification tables you will require for the collection available in electronic format. The classification tables include codes and descriptions/labels for:
- ANZSCO (Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations)
- country
- language
- field of education
- other reference tables used in the national AVETMISS (Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard) data collection
See the Statistical classification tables on the 'NCVER' website for more information.
The course master file contains key reference data concerning nationally recognised activity. The master file will be updated on a regular basis throughout the year.
Nationally accredited training activity
The National Training Information Service (NTIS) provides a search and browse function that allows you to find specific training packages, qualifications, courses, units of competency and registered training organisations (RTOs) that are licensed to provide training in Victoria and the other States.
See the 'NTIS' website for more information on Nationally accredited training packages, qualifications, courses and units.
Student management software
There are a number of commercial software vendors who provide packages capable of meeting your student administration needs and are compliant with the requirements of the VET statistical collection. Contact vendors directly for more information. Unfortunately, Skills Victoria cannot endorse or recommend any particular package.
When assessing the ability of a package to meet your business requirements, also ensure that it is able to meet Skills Victoria's reporting requirements which include compliance with the Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical (AVETMIS) Standard.
