Public Victorian TAFE Institutions receive Victorian Government funding to deliver nationally accredited vocational education and training (VET) and assessment services.
Private registered training organisations (RTOs) can apply to receive Victorian Government funding to deliver nationally accredited VET and assessment services through the Government Funded Training Program (GFTP).

Each year the Victorian Skills Commission (VSC), through Skills Victoria, contracts private RTOs to deliver training.

Skills Victoria will continue to fund RTOs through the Victorian Government initiative Maintaining the Advantage: Skilled Victorians.

RTOs that are funded under the GFTP receive contract compliance audits to ensure compliance with the conditions of the GFTP. Information on the audit requirements can be found under Auditing.
