Fees and charges for training and further education depend on whether a course is offered on a fee-for-service basis or supported by the government.

Directions about fees and charges

Schedule 1 of the Ministerial Directions (as amended in 2006) sets out fees and charges for government-funded training and further education. It includes the following parts:

• calculation of tuition contributions
• concessions and exemptions
• student services and amenities fees
• other fees and charges for enrolments in government-funded training or further education
• refunds
• fee-for-service

A new schedule of tuition fees will apply to courses commencing on or after 1 July 2009 (see Ministerial Directions 2009)  Until that date, the current fee schedule remains in place.
