Specialist Centres and Networks
The Victorian TAFE sector has numerous specialist centres that provide targeted and customised training solutions to meet the skills needs of priority industry sectors.
The Specialist Centre Initiative commenced in 2002 and has been progressively expanded to encompass the needs of various priority industries.
There are also specialist networks that form part of, or are linked to specialist centres.
The role of the networks are to facilitate resource sharing across the Victorian TAFE sector and enable a single point of entry into the vocational education and training system for industries and organisations seeking training solutions in specialised industry areas.
The specialist centres and networks form key links between industry and the training system.
