Innovation
Innovation Fund
The Innovation Fund initiative was established in 2003 to enable TAFE institutes to trial new initiatives in innovation and flexible delivery to meet the needs of students, workers, businesses and industry.
The Fund is designed to increase the flexibility and responsiveness of TAFE institutes and promote new approaches in skills acquisition. Guidelines are issued annually and linked to the Victorian Government’s priorities.
TAFE Innovation Showcase
Skills Victoria sponsors an annual TAFE Innovation Showcase event that showcases examples of TAFE institutes developing new ways to deliver skills needed by industry/community, through the Innovation Fund and other government funded initiatives.
Innovation initiatives are also drawn from specialist centres and their specialist networks that showcase examples of productive collaboration between TAFE institutes and industry partners in order to highlight the capacity of TAFE institutes to deliver training that is innovative and improves industry’s competitiveness.
The programs showcased reflect the future direction of training in Victoria. They focus on finding new, innovative ways to overcome a host of challenges by engaging with industry and utilising the latest developments in technology and training practice.
