Apprenticeships and Traineeships
What are apprenticeships and traineeships?
Apprenticeships and traineeships combine structured training with workplace experience. They are available to both existing workers and new entrants to the workforce and can also be integrated with secondary school studies (year 10 and above).
The apprenticeship system
Victoria's apprenticeship system is part of a national trade training system delivering nationally recognised qualifications through more than one thousand vocational pathways.
The Victorian apprenticeship system is overseen by the Victorian Skills Commission (VSC) through the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic.). The VSC has delegated its function as apprenticeship regulator and funder to Skills Victoria.
