Changes to VET Fee and Funding Arrangements for 2012

The Government has announced changes to fee and funding arrangements for 2012. The changes relate to four areas: funding differential between TAFE and non-TAFE providers; industry weightings in selected industries; removal of maximum and minimum fee caps; and cessation of special arrangements for apprentices.

The Review of Legislative, Governance and Oversight Arrangements Between Skills Victoria and TAFEs makes a number of substantial recommendations on TAFE governance and oversight. Skills Victoria is discussing the implications of the report with TAFE institutes, the Victorian TAFE Association and dual sector universities. Written comments are sought by Friday, 21 October 2011.
