Examples of Eligibility Date Calculations
Below are some examples of Apprentice Trade Bonus eligibility date calculations.
- John commences a Carpentry apprenticeship with Bill Jones on 1/1/11. John therefore becomes eligible for a six-month payment on 1/7/11 and for a 12-month payment on 1/1/12 providing the contract is continuing.
- Peter commences a Carpentry apprenticeship with Bill Jones on 1/1/11. That contract is terminated on 1/4/11 and Peter starts a new contract, still in Carpentry with Mary Robinson on 1/5/11. Peter therefore becomes eligible for a six-month payment on 1/8/11 and a 12-month payment on 1/2/12 providing the contract is continuing.
- Vince commences an Automotive apprenticeship with Jim Donohue on 1/1/11. That contract is terminated on 1/4/11 and Vince starts a new contract with Geoff Johnson in Hairdressing on 1/5/11. Vince therefore becomes eligible for a six-month payment on 1/11/11 and a 12-month payment on 1/5/12 providing the Hairdressing contract is continuing.
- Sarah commences a Hospitality apprenticeship with Jules Manning on 1/1/11 but leaves on 30/3/11 to start a non apprenticeship job. Sarah will not be eligible for any payment under the program.
